Larry Glasser Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 I recently acquired some Poe's 300 & 400 lures, some with broken lips. I have checked Barlows and Jann's for replacement parts but the are a different size or they don't have the line pull in the lip. Does anyone have any ideas about sources for replacement plastic blades? Quote

Super User WRB Posted December 26, 2018 Super User Posted December 26, 2018 Yakima lures bought Milton Poe's Super Cedar lures in 1994, prior to that they simply called Poe Plugs dating back into the 50's. Trying to determine what generation "original" Poe's crankbaits you have may require some expertise beyond my memory. The 70's-80's vintage 300 & 400 that I have the bill is molded, no Poe's molded into the bill and the bill has a trianglur support rig on the underside, the edges are thin. The second generation after '94 the bill has Poe's molded in, the trianglur support rib and edges are thicker. You need the correct bills as it has a major impact on the lures action. Good luck, Tom Quote
tander Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Got a bunch but wish I had more. They still catch fish. Have no idea about replacing bills, sorry. Quote

Good luck, Tom Thanks WRB. your insight was very helpful. I have reason to believe that my lures are 90's vintage and possibly assembled in Mexico. I am beginning to think that the only way to replace the lips is to harvest them from old beat up Poe's lures. 1 Quote
