So I'm a huge chatter bait fisherman and love the Zman jackhammers. But with them being 15+ bucks a pop its adding up rather quick.Looking at making my own chatter baits while adding my own twist to the color of the blade, skirt, etc. I been looking at the Do-It Poison Tail Weedless Jig Molds because of design is almost like the jackhammers.Only issue I see is hooks i can use with the molds. I will be Making the bait mostly in the 1/2oz size but would like to use a 30 degree Hooks. But need a thick hook as i throw these in the thick Florida grass. I was curious if these hooks would work with the mold in either a 4/0 or 5/0 size. https://www.barlowstackle.com/Mustad-32850NP-Jig-Hooks-P3369.aspx

If you go through a lot of jigs and really know what you want i am positive a custom mold could be made.  Then you could make what ever you want exactly how you want it made.  They do this for lead bullet casting, and a few other casts like babbitt molds for old motor projects.  If you know exactly what you want just go big the first time and be satisfied.

Use these in 5/0 as they are way better than those VMC ones. As for the mold you don't need a custom one as the poison tail works. Two recommendations I would make if you are using that mold. First cut down a Do-It pin to where the head meets the weedguard as you will not have the weedguard hole or flashing. Second File out the keeper area to accept a wire keeper posted below. The factory trailer keeper sucks on that mold.

Looks just like what comes with the Zman Jackhammer! Awesome work and thanks again for the picture reference. I will look into how I'm going to mod the mold for this keeper

Make sure to get the keeper that is for the Trokar molds as it is longer than the regular Do=It one.
