Anyone have any thoughts on the avid x 7 ft medium fast?  Will be an all purpose rod for senkos, lipless cranks, poppers, lighter texas rigs, etc.  Will be pairing it with a Tatula SV 7.3.  Anyone have issues with the micro guides breaking?

I don't have a MF but two MH/Fast and love them.  No issues with the guides either.

I have 2 of the regular Avid's in 7' M/F and 1 LTB 7'1" M/F. Needless to say, that blank is probably my most used blank that I use in fishing.

I love st croix but depending on where you live the X might or might not be good.  The small rings are good until your dealing with the cold, or the cottonwillow all over the water.  I fish until the water is solid and have had my micro rods give me a very hard time.  The rod is great but the regular vs micro is an important decision depending on your situation.

after playing around with some Avid X models in Bass Pro yesterday, the 68 medium avid felt a lot better to me.  Would this rod work well for senkos?

It's perfect for Senkos. I have the spinning version in the mojo series and it's my light Texas rig, senko, drop shot rod of choice.

The 6'6 Mh-f avid x is my bank casting rod of choice. Awesome feel.

The only problem you're likely to have is if you use braid, the leader knot will likely get hung up on the microguides.

The difference is the handle and the guides but all around both are sold for soft plastics.

Was that Avid the 6’8” M-XF or a 6’8” M-F?  The XF version is a great light or weightless plastics and weightless senko rod. Also works well for some smaller jerkbaits and top water. But overall a M-F will be more versatile.

If was actually the Avid X 6'8'' M-XF, I misspoke when I said the avid.

It’s a great blank, just not as multipurpose as the M-F would be. One thing on your list I personally wouldn’t throw on the M-XF are the lipless cranks.

Would the xf be your choice for senkos?

I have the 6’8” M-XF in both a spinning and a casting version, both are my go to rods for throwing a weightless 5” senko trigged on a 4/0 ewg.

Will Probably go with that then.  Senko deserves its own rod, IMO.  Should pair well with my Tat SV.

You will have no regrets, that outfit is made for each other.
