My dad. He wasn't much into fishing, but I was...so he took me out when I wanted to fish someplace too far to bike.

This pic is from '67 or '68 as we're about to head to Wachusett Reservoir, MA for a day of fishing.

My great grandfather was a real outdoorsman. The first of four generations of stonemasons ( I’m number four), he used to be known as “the guy” to call if someone ever had a bear problem. Aparrently he shot dozens and dozens of bears over his lifetime, none of which went to waste. He was also known to troll for lake trout with a wire line while rowing to some of his many jobsites that were on island cottages. I’ve been known to “ fish my way to work” before as well, I’m sure we would’ve got along just fine ?

My dad who passed away in 2006. He wasn't much into fishing but I'd give anything to hang out with him a bit longer. Richard, one of my closest friends and brother in Law Enforcement. He was into fishing! Committed suicide in 1998. They would be my first choice.

As for famous folks go, smallmouth fishing author Tim Holschlag for river fishing. Jim Root for lake smallmouth fishing.

I'm lucky enough that I still fish with my son and my dad, so my choice would be Mike Iaconelli.

If you saw my post from last night on Ike Live I asked him and Pete for their alligator stories. Pete responded and Ike asked for one of mine. He thought it was crazy to bank fish with alligators, so I'd like to get him out there with us just to hear him scream about something other than catching a bass.

Aside from that, my son is in the moody teen stage. I'd like to fish with someone who's still passionate about fishing.

If I had to pick one.. it might be Aaron Wiebe of Uncut Angling, and hopefully Manny Milas can come along. Fits my style best.

My grandpa and Larry Nixon.

I fished many times with & against The General, he taught me a lot about worm fishing.

Tommy Martin taught me about deep grass jigging.

I was always a big fan of both those guys. Two of the all time best.

If you could spend a day fishing with any persons who would it be?

I would fish with my better half, family members, or close friends.

 • My dad, who taught me to fish.

 • My son.

 • Several bass resource members.

 • My friend since childhood, Jeff.

As for pros, I would pick Scott Martin, Shaw Grigsby, Hank Parker, or Bill Dance.

And Im with @Catt , would love to get some smallmouths someday.

My G-daughter is probably my favorite at this time.20180429_163339-966x128820180506_173858-966x1288.jpg

Interesting choices...

My son would be my favorite and like mentioned above my Dad would be cool to fish with again.  He wasn't much of a catcher so always said "It's just good to be out here"  That's kind of stuck with me...he was a good gentle man.  Hopefully the grandkids want to fish with grandpa too a little more someday.  And my daughter too...bless her heart..she's with the Lord now and we had some great times too.  Dang...ya all got me thinking.  I have got to fish with some of the big names back in the day and it was cool...very....but my kids/family.....#1

If the clock could be turned back it would be a long list of departed family, freinds and people who I would like to share another day on the water with. The reality is share time with those you can, it goes by faster then you think! Everyday on the water is precious to me and fishing with my son or wife is always special.

Could not possibly limit it to one.  I fish with my Grandfather and Grandmother every time I go out.    For those still in earthly form the short list would be.    KVD, R.C., Mike McClelland, Denny B., and Gary Klein.

KVD - Spinnerbaits and Crankbaits

R.C. - Crankbaits and Locating Fish

Mike M. Jerkbaits

Denny B. Jigs

Gary K.  Just for an all round enjoyable day of fishing.  One of the nicest Men I have ever met.

This is the key. A sudden death is all too common. Prioritize and cherish. Regret is a painful experience.

Is Christie Brinkley still around? She may not know much about fishing but at least I'll have great scenery. BTW, if you remember some of the most attractive women from the 80's don't google them. Elle Macpherson is 54. I use to have her pic on my wall. Now I feel creepy.

Raquel Welch, Sophia Loren and Nichelle Nichols were my three - sighs.

I hate to break your illusion. Christie Brinkley turned  60 this year. Since she is now too old for you I'll take her fishing.
