Yo-Zuri Hybrid vs Sufix Advance

I'm a Yo-Zuri fanboy. I'll just get that out of the way. But I just found out about Sufix Advance. How do these lines compare? Looking at them, they both have that thick diameter compared to what's typical of the listed test weight. I'm seeing that Advance has little to no memory and casts well? Are they even comparable at all? Does Advance boast a great breaking strength? Would Hybrid fan be happy making the switch?

 I have not had a chance to try Sufix Advance yet. I use Sufix Siege on several setups and really like it. Casts and handles really well and is very abrasion resistant. Seems to be a very strong line per pound test.

Yes, Advanced has breaking strength beyond its rating. However, there are a few significant differences that I notice between the two lines. 

 

First, Advanced seems like it is a smoother line which seems to make it cast a little better. 

 

Second, YZH is stretchy where Advanced is not. Advanced is more sensitive. 

 

Third, Avdvanced seemed to be more visible in the water more so than most other monos or copolys. I mean like a lot more to the point that it caught my attention when I was reeling in a crankbait. In the clear, green tinted water I fish, it stood out as noticeably white. 

 

Fourth, Advanced floats better. When fishing a Whopper Plopper it seemed like I had to lift less line out of the water to only the lure sitting on the water. 

 

They are both good lines but I will be using them for different applications.

That's excellent and what I really needed to know. Noted that Hybrid will stay on my finesse setups and I'll try Advance on reaction and topwater setups. Visibility will matter for Neds, but not cranks, and if Advance floats better, I wanna put that on my plopper rod.

I picked up the 10 lb and 12 lb a few weeks ago. Put the 12lb on the three BC reels. It measures at about what most 15lb mono does. A youtoober I trust did a vid on it. Claims the 12lb had a break strength of 18lbs+.

 

I've only fished it in the cold between freezing and 40 degrees. It has plenty of memory, but not wicked like some floro. Wants to jump off the spool a bit at the start in these conditions. BTW, I soaked the filler spool with KVD L&L the night before I spooled up. Once I chuck a heavy lure with good resistance a few times it settles down some. I had a pickeral chomp down on the line. It was across it's jaws and teeth with the hook on the outside lip when I got it in. Thought it was a goner with the thrashing, but the line held up just fine. So far so good.

I've only tried 6lb advance and it was a nice line, for about 1 trip. It seems to get damaged very easily and becomes curly, like it's been pulled over a sharp object, with normal use. Switching back to Pline CXX demonstrated it wasn't anything to do with the rod or reel and it was just the line that was performing poorly. It's a shame as it seemed like nice line for the first couple of hours. I have no experience with the higher strains though, they may behave better?
