Lmsmbassaddict Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I just want to let everyone know that this line is legit. Level wound line looks cool but does nothing in terms of quality. It's the same old seaguar you've been using just in bulk spools. And to be honest I myself loved looking at the level wound line but in bigger spools it was more of a headache than anything. It might help (I don't honestly think it does a d**n thing) on smaller filler spools that get used in one go, but I noticed the level wound line would get wonky on spools that had 200+yards. I thought it was fake too, so the guy I ordered from gave me his account # with SEAGAUR. I am in the midst of creating a company that holds other line companies accountable. It's a service that's so over looked. You have to realize that fishing line, knots, and quality hooks effect fishing way more than most people give credit to. These companies will change things here and there and these things need to be noticed, tested independently, and passed on. Maybe we can all come together with line we all recommend. Like 4 Brands fluorocarbon, 4 Brands of braid, 4 of mono. We all take a vote every 6 months for those brands to be tested. I can't afford to buy all the line for testing so we would need some help from you these guys on the forum. I can tie every knot known to man and I keep myself in practice. (I'm a bit of a nerdy introvert). Quote
Efishin Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 While getting you his account number with a vendor showing he is a dealer can be reassuring, that doesn't mean anything. It could still be a different line. Unlikely though. I can tell the difference between cheap mono and Invizx for sure though. Only time will time. Hope everything turns out legit Quote
OnthePotomac Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Seagaur stopped level winding their bulk spools quite some time ago. My latest 1000 yd Invizx is not, but comes off the bulk nicely. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 28, 2020 Super User Posted July 28, 2020 Two years, and not a single substantiated claim of "counterfeit" line. Seems like you're okay. 1 Quote

Seems like you're okay. I have had no issues with this line. I don't know if Seaguar reformulated it this year but I have a 200 yard spool of 20lb and it looks different (obviously the diameter is bigger). The 20lb seems to have a heavier coating or shine to it. I would post a picture but it really doesn't show up that well. On the water, both lines are fine and have worked well for me. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 28, 2020 Super User Posted July 28, 2020 I am a faithful Invisx user and have been for a few years now. Did go through the confusion that came along with how Seaguar changed their spooling process without telling anyone. Returned a couple of perfectly good spools and took a little beating $$ price wise too. Not a fan of that. Either way, 20 lb Invisx & Tatsu has accounted for several trophies for us while fishing south of the border. These fish are stout & super charged and any line flaw will be exposed is short order. No problems with it at all. In fact the 20 lb Invisx accounted for this Beast of a Bass caught by none other than Big Fish Jeff. I say use it with confidence. A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 28, 2020 Super User Posted July 28, 2020 The difference we’re talking about is in how 1000 yd bulk spools are wound. There has been no change in the formula. My 200 yd filler spools from recent buys are the same as they’ve been for years. I don’t have any 20, but I have tons of 10, 12, and 15. Quote
