Dr. Big Dog Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Share your thoughts the best rods in the $200 price range. Quote
Russ E Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Your answers are going to be based on everyone's personal preference. Nearly all rods in the $200.00 range are good quality. The best thing you can do is head to a sporting goods store and handle them personally. My preference for that price are Dobyns champions. They balance well in my hands. Quote
TBAG Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Pretty broad question, but I would recommend St. Croix or Dobyns to start....... Quote
Fishingmickey Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 I have been very pleased with a Denali Lithium that I purchased. The Kistler Mag2 is another very fine rod at that price point. FM Quote

The list of good rods in this price rang is extensive. 1 Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Getting the Kistler Helium 3 for $200 cannot be beaten. If you cannot then I would suggest the Kistler Magnesium 2 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted December 13, 2018 Super User Posted December 13, 2018 Another vote for Kistler's Mg2 Quote
Stephen B Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 St Croix Avid X, Hammer JAK, Dobyns Champion, as well as the Zodias. I have fished and didn't like any of my Kistlers (Zbones, Helium 3s). Sold them all but some people like them. You have a lot of great choices at your price range. 2 1 Quote

Jelvas Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Shimano Zodias! My favorite line of rods in the sub 200€ price range, very light, super well balanced, very sensitive, good components and well build, from the ones i´ve tried from the line up the 7.2" heavy stands out, hell of a rod... 2 Quote

Dens228 Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Another happy St. Croix AvidX user here. 1 Quote
Super User burrows Posted December 14, 2018 Super User Posted December 14, 2018 although my zodias is the most sensitive rod that I own I hate the eva grips on it. But if that doesn't matter to you I would go with the zodias. honorable mention to the phenix feather series of rods very sensitive and 50 dollars cheaper than your budget!? 1 Quote
JBFishin Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Dobyn's Champion XP rods have treated me very well in Florida. And the Warranty is the best. No Ask No question. They even have a trade up program. Quote
Lasher Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Daiwa Tatula Signature Elite Series. $180. Could probably get them on sale somewhere a little cheaper. http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/rods/tatula_elite/index.html Quote
