TW has them on sale. I was looking at them for chatter baits but the lure rating is 1/2 to 1 1/2  and its a heavy rated glass rod.

I typically throw 3/8th sized chatterbaits and was wondering if its too light of a lure to use for that rod.

And lastly i wanted to know the general opinions on using glass for chatterbaits. is it really needed?

I love the buttery smoothness of a great glass rod.  I only use them for baits with treble hooks, probably a bit old school in that regard.  I prefer a CF rod for anything that uses a large single hook and a benefits from longer casts.   I also love to be able to feel the instant that blade stop doing its dance.

I can't comment on the rod, but a 3/8oz chatterbait with a 4" swimbait trailer on it is about 3/4oz. So you'd be right in the sweet spot for that rod.

no...

I have only used graphite for all my chatterbait spinnerbait type aplications I don't see a need to use glass for anything other than treble hook baits. I do like fishing a good glass blank however not for spinnerbaits chatterbaits. just my opinion for what its worth.
