Tizi Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I have narrowed my search to these 3 reels from American Legacy: 1) Daiwa Fuego CT 7.3:1 2) Lew's LFS 7.5:1 3) Lew's Tournament MB 7.5:1 I will be using the reel on a Carbon Lite 2.0 6'6" MF casting. This will be a general purpose set up. Thanks! Quote
CroakHunter Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I habe tried both the lfs and fuego ct...I still have the 3 fuegos. 1 in every ratio. The magforce z braking system is awesome, different to set up than a normal baitcaster, but super beneficial when done correctly. The lews reels aren't bad by any means, but for me, the best fit was the fuego ct. My personal favorite is the tatula ct or tatula ct type r. Quote
LionHeart Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Take lfs off the list. Not a bad reel but lowest of the bunch. Fuego has much better brakes than the MB. I own 3 MBs and 1 Fuego. If you are new to baitcasters Fuego hands down. Otherwise it's a tough choice. 1 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted December 12, 2018 Super User Posted December 12, 2018 Tournament MB all the way. It's my favorite baitcaster ATM. It is a smooth casting, rock solid, dual brake reel. 1 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I own multiple Fuegos. I love my Fuegos. They catch me everything that swims, bulldogging redfish and jumping largemouth. You're gonna find multiple people in both camps, and neither is right and neither is wrong. Either one of those reels is going to make you happy, I'm betting. Get whichever one you think is prettiest. Quote
Tizi Posted December 12, 2018 Author Posted December 12, 2018 Down to Fuego or Lew's MB. The Fuego for $59 on eBay from American Legacy is pretty hard to pass up. Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted December 12, 2018 Super User Posted December 12, 2018 I'd go Fuego for the braking system alone. I've owned the other two reels and they were good reels, no complaints, but I replaced them with Tatulas eventually. Quote

Tizi Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 Thanks for the replies, I am going to go for the Fuego. Quote

I like them alot on MHF and H rods. Mostly 7' and up. Not a big fan on 6'6"-ish medium or on a 7' MHXF. I can throw with them all day on the lower power rods, but it requires a certain consistency of stroke and more concentration than I'd like to expend while keeping the brake dial on the lower limit. Personally, I'd go for a centrifugally braked reel on your ML 6'6" set up. I think you'll have less grief. Magforce Z doesn't do well with any type of snap. Trouble happens more on a short medium power rod if you're casting with differently weighted lures close to the rod's limit. It's hard to avoid. Crank up the brakes and you'll be fine, but you might not hit your target if it's out there a bit. Just My opinion. Quote
Tizi Posted December 14, 2018 Author Posted December 14, 2018 I waited until today to decide, got a 15% off eBay code, ordered Lew’s Tournament MB from American Legacy for $78.19 shipped!! 1 Quote
