Hello all. I recently moved into the central Florida area. I’m retired and looking for a fishing partner to fun fish with during the week and maybe some tournament fishing? I moved here from NJ (where I lived for 4 yrs.) but previously lived in south Florida where I was a fishing guide. I own a bass boat but I’m totally unfamiliar with local lakes. Thanks! Andy

Welcome bud! I don't do tournaments anymore. But I do fish Istokpoga, Placid and Okeechobee regularly on the weekends.

We have a little bit of everything here in central FL. Your shallow lakes will be a lot of heavy cover fishing. Flipping and hollow body frogs are great. Deeper lakes like Placid and June will be a lot of scanning with your electronics to find offshore brush piles on droppoffs and points. Deep cranks, spoons and C-rigs rule on these lakes. Best of luck to you.

That helps. I’m in Oviedo so we’re kinda close.

I’m semi retired myself.

I’ll pm you my info and we can talk.

I grew up in south Florida too.

Grew up in Coral Springs. Live in Windermere. I fish the Butler Chain all the time. Also fish Conway, clermont chain and John's lake. if you wanna fish holler. I'm not a tournament person just fish for fun ad drink beer. I have access to the tow of Windermere boat ramp and the FOP lodge for the Conway chain.

Welcome, I'm up to fish whenever I can. Lake Kissimmee and hatch are great lakes, but I'm not very familiar with them.

I just thought of something, you might also look into the fish Orlando project, might give you some good starting points

Welcome. The closest I usually get to Orlando is the Ocala Nat. forest. Great small lakes and uncrowded water!

Central Florida has many great bodies of water and many of them are loaded with trophy bass. Not uncommon for a bass fisherman in Central/Northern Florida to catch multiple bass over 8 pounds every year with a couple over 10.
