David Roger Dyess Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 What are the best baits to fish at Pickwick Lake in December? Please feel free to add any other helpful info. Is live bait better at that time? Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 24, 2018 Global Moderator Posted November 24, 2018 I would take the advice of @roadwarrior on this question but for me almost anything is still in play for December . Water temp should be around 55 so it probably depends on which part of the lake you are fishing. A lot of folks are going to be the throwing umbrella rigs in shallow water because the shad seem to gravitate there . Suspending jerkbait is also good . Finesse presentations will catch some big ones, think small stuff you might throw for crappie. There always a crappie fisherman accidentally catching big bass, especially smallmouth . Live bait is best about 99% of the time in my opinion but it can be hard to catch. Fishing the tail waters is a good bet in winter, always wear a life jacket near the dams Quote
