GoneFishingLTN Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I’ve posted similar threads before but was still hoping I could find a link to an old article or something of a pros tournament set up with how many rods they own. Example how many spinnerbait rods and are they different is one a 7/2mh one a 7/6 mh etc. I know everyone is different but more curious than anything else. I can’t believe the info is just not out there. Quote
LionHeart Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Not really sure what you're asking man. How many spinner bait rods are there? There is no such animal. There are however countless rods that excel at throwing spinner baits. It comes down to personal preference. Some people like to use rods 6' and others like to use all the way up to 7'4" and beyond. I have 3 rods that I would use for spinner baits, but I use them for many other things as well. A 7'4" med/heavy mod/fast, a 7'1" med/Heavy fast, and a 7' med/heavy mod/fast. These are all just my preferred rods though and I'm sure others will have their own preferences. Not sure if that helps but I'm not super sure what you are asking. Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 I’m not just asking about spinnerbaits. What I’m teyjng to ask is a pro has around 23 rods or so in the boat. This is always changing yes but in gerenal they usually have xx. I’m wondering if anyone has any old info from some forum/magazine/video etc where someone listed what these rods are as far as action/length goes. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted November 20, 2018 Super User Posted November 20, 2018 It would be nice to know but I'm afraid most of us take rods set up for the body of water that we will be fishing. For example, I have a set of 8 I take for the river and another set of 12 I take to the lake. Technique specific rods are set up for the baits I am going to throw on any particular body of water. A better question IMHO is how to set up what rods for what technique because it doesn't matter where I go, my dropshot rod, spinnerbait rod, cranking stick, etc...are all set up the same no matter where I take them. One caveat may be things like deep cranks vs squarebills, etc. Quote
Dens228 Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Thank God I fish from a kayak! I take 5 or 6 rods and have to utilize multipurpose, so mainly MH/Fast, usually 3 or 4 are that rating. The reason I say thank God is that if I was on a boat with all those options I'd end up taking 100 rods!!! LOL Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 22, 2018 Super User Posted November 22, 2018 Out of curiosity, why are you worrying about what 87 rods Jordan Lee has in his boat and the back of his truck for fishing all across the country? Don't you think you might be better off worrying/asking about what YOU need to catch bass where you live? That 7'11" deep cranking rod KVD has 10 of isn't going to do you much good if your home bodies of water are 5' deep weed choked backwaters. Quote

Yeah I get it most people on here get annoyed by this question. I don't plan to only fish in a small section of the country and plan on traveling for tournaments. I also wouldn't mind knowing this even though I know every single tournament/person is different, it is interesting to me. Quote
