I ordered a Old Town Predator MK, got a great deal.  $2300 for the Kayak with shipping. Picked up a paddle and PFD for the discount, and am having them install a Helix 7 with GPS on it.

Now i I know I can fit a group 24 battery in the holder, but I want a good battery close to 85A and am unsure of brands to use.

What other essential accesories do people people have for their Kayaks

a crate

a flag

a stake-out pole

an anchor with trolley

a cooler

a dry bag or two

a set of leashes to tie down rods and gear in case you dump it

Fish for  while before you go crazy with rigging.  I am guessing you are new to the sport based on asking this question.  Stick to the basics for now and don't hard mount anything.  What you think you might want on the water based on your ideas may not be true.  I have owned many kayaks over my 20 years or so of kayak fishing and my last boat i still took out a dozen times or some before i started rigging it up to my liking.

All that being said, gear tracks make moving accessories easy but i personally prefer flush mount rod holders.   I have 6 flush mounts, a crate, anchor trolley and stake out pole for normal use plus another anchor for deeper water when needed.  Helix 5 SI gets the job done as well

As previously mentioned, fish it as is for a while. You will quickly begin to know what accessories you’d like to have, and where you would like to install them. You don’t want to make Swiss cheese out of your boat with constant rigging changes.

For me, an anchor trolley and stakeout pole are a must. And maybe a couple of rod holders depending on how your boat is configured. A good cart is another item I couldn’t go without either.

Don't forget safety items, first aid, whistle, maybe a strobe for PFD, dry bag, etc.

Check with the boaters for battery ideas.
