May have to end up sending this to DVT, but after I cleaned and reassembled my Curado 200e5, I noticed the spool tension doesn't work, no matter what setting it's on, and the spool jiggles back and forth as if completely loose. I took it apart a couple more times to try and find what was wrong, and even put a tension cap from my other Curado 2000e5 on, and it still didn't work. The little piece inside the cap had not fallen out either.

Let me check. Maybe it fell out.

How about the spacer on the other side under the spool bearing? Has to be one or the other. Give me a shout if you want.

That was it, that spacer is missing. Put another spacer in from my other curado and it works fine. I will look for the spacer that I lost.

I feel your pain.. When I began cleaning my own reels years ago one of those little buggers would end up missing until I disciplined myself to remove them immediately and set them aside to keep track of them.  It also helped to keep extras on hand just in case.  Same goes for the bearing wire retaining clips.

This is where I use an old egg carton for disassembly. Though I admit I don't do it myself anymore, but it helps if/when I do it.

Try it, it's a lifesaver and usually comes free when you buy a dozen eggs at the grocery. ;)

An egg carton is a nice trick.  I like something heavier duty:
