Looking to buy a Kayak around black friday (hoping that's when to get the best deals) and I am 5'10" 240lbs, I'd like the option to possible stand up and would like to put electronics on it as some point.

I've come down to these 2 kayaks.  Anyone have an opinion either way?

I have a Big Game Prowler II. I consider myself to be pretty stable, no way I could stand and fish in it. I'm 6' 220 FWIW.

I also hate the rod pod in the center of it. I'd much rather have an open floor design. I got it for so cheap I couldn't pass up the deal though.

I don't fish tournaments, but if I did I would go with the SS127. I've always been an Ocean Kayak rider and I own a Big Game II. I enjoy fishing out of it, but it's slow. As far as the rod pod is concerned, I don't know of too many folks who actually use it for rod storage. The only thing I like about the rod pod is that it allows access for mid-haul rigging. You open mine and you'll find a complex electrical wiring harness which provides 12V throughout the haul. I wish they would cut the length of the rod pod in half to allow more deck space. If you don't care about paddling speed, the BG II is a good yak.
