I can't speak for the Expride but I have the 783C GLX and it has been a great all around rod.  I also have the 844C GLX. Also a great general purpose rod but just slightly heavier.  I would think the 843 would be right between these two.

Exprides have a solid reputation and I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase if you go that route, but IMO the GLX is on another level and worth the extra money (on sale) plus it comes with a better warranty. I have the 842c with a Chronarch MGL and it's become one of my favorite rods... the 843 should be an excellent choice for an all around rod.

I would go with the GLX, I also have a 842c and its one of my favorites also.

I do have the 843c NRX and its an amazing rod, I'm sure the GLX 843 is also excellent.

Have a 893GLX and love it, super sensitive and lightweight(not that it matters much). Ive wanted to try an Expride just haven't.

I’d love to try an Expride, I have a hard time even finding one to handle!! But do have a glx 852c and 894c which has led me to want the 893c and now a moving bait rod either the mbr 842c or the mbr 843c

I have a '16 GLX 783 and aside from two tiny complaints (butt is like 1-2" too long and the reel seat is a bit funky) it has been an amazing rod.  It casts well across it's full range and has far more power then it seems like.  Sensitivity is outstanding as well.
