P-line CX Premium strength

Something happened to me today that really surprised me after what I've read about this line. I just got a lews mach 1 spinning setup and put 20 lb pp on it. Normally I slap a fluorocarbon leader on it and call it a day but 15 was the lightest I had so I decided to try the 8 lb cx premium I have. On my first cast with a shaky head I had my line go slack so I went to cross some eyes and d**n near broke my new rod.... It was under a piece of cement ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️  anyway the point was that it bent out a really stout hook and didn't break the cx line... THAT impressed me. It was connected to the braid with a crazy alberto and an ICK at the jig.

The first time I used it I went to break off a tube jig and about cut off my fingers instead. That stuff won’t break

I take this back.... 3 hooksets in a row it snapped on me!

And I can pull my drag with 4-6 pounds of pressure

It's my favorite line.  I use 12lb and 8lb and can say I've never really had a problem with it breaking.

It’s good line. I have 20lb and if you bite it, instead of using a scissor, it almost feels like it has a hard shell on it.

I've had varied results with the CX premium. I really like the CXX though. It's super strong and abrasion resistant, quite a bit of memory if you get above 15lb but I use it for moving baits and swimbaits mainly so that's not an issue. It wouldn't be an issue if you're using it for a leader either.

Did you happen to have a professional over run?  So many of these "strong" lines will lose their strength when kinked due to a backlash. And you won't even realize it until you set the hook or even bomb a cast. Flouro has a lot of strengths going for it. But the few weaknesses are glaring. And often costly..
