Bassresource,

hopefully this is the appropriate place to post what your about to read. I’ll be the first to admit my lack of interaction on this great site. I read much more than type, and have learned Aton from you all.

I live on the coast of North Carolina which many may know was strongly impacted by hurricane Florence. Many co-workers of mine were heavily impacted by the storm and lost everything including their houses. A partner of mine in the Law Enforcement field was amongst those impacted losing almost everything. He had a house on the river which experienced record river floods of approximately 24 feet. Needless to say, he was flooded out big time.

It hit me a few days ago when I invited him to fish. He reminded me that he lost all his tackle and rods during the storm. Of course I’ve got plenty of gear and told him that’s the last thing to worry about. We went and had a blast and the fish were chewing to boot.

I got to thinking and come up with the idea of fixing him up a tackle bag and a rod and reel. I’ve got a St. Croix rod that I plan to give him along with some other tackle.

An an additional Co-worker also came to mind who was impacted probably the worst of any and deemed a total loss.

I thought I would reach out and see if anyone is interested in donating any fishing related items to get these two guys up and back on the water. I know these guys very well and can already see them smile ear to ear. I can handle this myself if there is no interest in participating but thought I would throw it out there.

If anyone however is interested, I will assure ALL donations will go to these two guys and photos will be taken for documentation and of course posted on here.

Mods... I certainly hope this is not breaking any forum rules and if this topic needs to be moved please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

It’s nice to hear about people like you who are so giving and thoughtful!! I don’t have much gear in the first place but I will keep them and all affected in my thoughts. Great job! I’m sure they will be very surprised and grateful!

Our area is more of a tidal river fishery.

Plastics, soinnerbaits, buzzbaits, jigs, topwater, cranks.

Panfish tackle... anything is greatly appreciated. I plan to purchase a couple academy tackle bags as well.

Thanks

Sending an H2O CRS Square for both of them in Chart/Black and a bag of YUM Craw Chunks in black and blue.  I think those colors should work for your fishery and hopefully it'll introduce them to more budget friendly offerings.  Those two are definitely my two favorite brands.
