maherme Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Hello people, I have tried to find information in the forum about these two reels but I could not find what I want. So I ask to you directly, what is the main different between Curado, specifically CU71XG and Curado K, CU201XGK? I could find a different in the ball-bearings, Curado has 5 (S A-RB) + 1 (RB) and Curado K has 4(S A-RB) + 2 (RB) and also a considerably difference in the weight, Curado K is heavier than Curado. But, is it Curado K better than Curado or vice-versa?, or is it created for a differente use?. What do you think?. Maybe Curado K is heavier but more durable? ... Thanks and regards, Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 They're just a little different. Neither is any better built than the other. 1 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 The Curado K 200/201 is a bigger reel than the 70/71, so the Curado K holds more line. 2 1 Quote
maherme Posted October 29, 2018 Author Posted October 29, 2018 Ok, that explains the higher weight of Curado K. I think there is any different in centrifugal / magnetic brake also. Which do you recommend for bass fishing with 3/8 or heavier jigs? Thanks for yours answers. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 15 minutes ago, BaitFinesse said: The 70 has a shallower spool that will be lighter weight when full of line. The reduced mass of the spool means that it will have less moment of inertia to overcome and less angular momentum when casting. Both allow the reel to cast lighter weight baits more easily. The higher capacity 200 will be better with 3/8 oz and up baits and 70 better with 3/8 oz and under with reports of casting 1/8 oz total weight well. This ^^ is how I happen to use mine, right or wrong. I have a Curado I 200 I use for 3/8oz and larger baits. I tried it with lighter baits and didn't like it. When I got a dedicated rod for lighter baits (ML power) I put a Curado 70 on it and like it a lot. 1 1 Quote
Fishingmickey Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Maherme, I am in complete agreement with everyone's assessment above. I have both the "K" and the "70". The 70 is a great finesse reel and the K is good for bigger baits. The K doesn't like throwing light or weightless baits. 1 Quote
