Dream Shot vs. Roboworm

I recently picked up a few packs of dream shots. I think they are going to be a great bait. I have also read great things about the Roboworm. Which one do you prefer and why?

Have used both and done well on both.  For the most part in my opinion its a color thing.  Tail on the Dream is a bit smaller so a bit more action but both are good baits.

I have tried both and caught fish on both. I will say that the Dreamshot has a major flaw in my opinion. The bait is very thin and the tail tends to get bit off by any panfish that might be in the area. The good thing is even with the missing tail it catches Bass.

 

Love them both. always have a supply of them on hand when dropshotting.

I've tried both and for me the Dream Shot in Dirt is the bait that caught fish. I had no luck with the roboworm. Still have 3 packs of them.

I’ve been fishing RoboWorms for a long time. Straight tail, curly tail, FX and reg. Can only recommend them. 

 

I’ve never fished a Dream Shot. Heard of them. Over the winter I’ll work on getting a few packs. Spring I’ll try them drop shot, split shot and light t rig them. Thanks

I have zero confidence in either. I actually have no confidence in any worm on a drop shot. For me to get bites I use the Jackall Crosstail Shad or Strike King Drop Shot Half Tail.

No help from me.  I use either a Yamamoto Pro Senko or a Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm for 100% of my dropshotting.  Never had the need to try anything else.

Strike King KVD Dream Shot worms came out in 2012, 6 years ago! If you haven't heard about the Dream Shot it's because it isn't popular.

I use roboworms all the time. Both 4.5 and 6 inch. Great plastic worm. I've caught 1 sink on Dream Shot. Not really a fan of those.

Jackall Crosstail Shads work for me as well. Haven't tried the Half Shell.

I tried the dreamshots when they came out.  As mentioned above the tail section tears easily...Roboworms aren't the most durable baits either but they flat out work and have been more durable then the dreamshots.  I use predominantly Robo's and have tried a ton of other type baits but always come back to them.

My rotation of drop shot specific baits include:

 

GYCB shad shape worm

 

Robo worms of all shapes and sizes

 

Z-man trick shots

 

Half a beaver

 

Dreamshots were a dud for me. For a few years I used Yum Warning shots as a replacement for the half a beaver trick, but now that I am back to using beavers for flipping and pitching, I don't bother with the yum baits anymore, and just recycle my torn up flipping beavers. I have Jackall cross tail's, but they have, much like the dream shot, not been real good for me.

I tried the dreamshot without good results as well. Roboworms, Yamamoto shat shaped worm and cut tail worm, Berkeley gulp minnows, reins bubbling shaker are what I use on a drop shot.

I’ve heard of them for years. Seen them around only in media or internet form. On a local scale I never seen them around. They have a unique shape that never caught my eye enough to get them. I’ll order two colors and try to fish them the way I fish others. That shape to me is drop shot but I also like to split shot rig and fish a light Texas rig on worms I use. I think they are popular.

I use both and they work well. I mix it up and let the bass tell me if they have a preference on any given day.  I also like the Robo FX Sculpin.

I only use roboworms, 6 inch roboworm fats to be exact. I have had so much success I don’t feel the need to go to another bait.

OK I bit. I had to order something from TW anyway so I threw a few packs of these on. I’ll have them for spring. 

 

I have the SK Dream Shot OPT’s 4.25” coming.

* Bold Bluegill

 

Should have waited for Black Friday but it’s ok. These patterns are very similar to RoboWorm. These colors will not be new but that odd shape will be. They’ll work. I’m looking forward to having the SK rigged on one rod and a RoboWorm 4.5 the same color on another and fish them at the same time. Be tough to do at the same time, you get what I’m saying.

Ever fished two hooks on one drop shot rig at once? It looks weird, is hard to rig and cast, but sure does work!

No I have not. Easy enough to rig up and experiment on one line. I’m not new to drop shotting but this season I’ve drop shotted more than the last three seasons put together. To make a long story short I have a new home as far as fishing waters now. On a lake now. I’m a river rat, the majority of my life’s bass fishing has taken place on the river. Effects of Mother Nature over the last couple of years have ruined it and I refuse to let the frustration of that hold me back. Some may say that fishing is fishing whether on the river or the lake. Not sure about that. I’ve found that you have to apply yourself and the techniques a bit different. It is sort of a different world in quite a few aspects. But I’m enjoying the new home. Enjoying the largemouths. Hope the river rebounds, but Mother Nature has control of that. Can only hope I live long enough to see that happen.

I have caught many more fish on the roboworms but to be fair, I have also fished them much more as I have had success on them. I have largely heard good things about both however, so I purchased both.

I have heard about this tactic. Some have even said to put the bigger bait behind the smaller bait so it looks like it's chasing it, which they claim makes the fish want to get in on the action even more although I never tried it.

I have done well on both and as a matter of fact theyre pretty much my go to drop shot plastics along with netbait paca chunks for skittish spawning fish (may sound goofy but  trust me)

 

  The roboworms (which ARE longer) have caught bigger fish for me. But the dreamshot get a lot of bites, and yes, bluegill love em.

I fish 6” Robos for most all of my dropshotting.  I t-rig them when I am casting and dragging and wacky rig them when I am casting to targets and working them in place.

The dream shot is a bit more durable than a robo worm. I really like both though.
