how did you do all that? just make some plywood like mini boxes and carpet them or did you screw them in somehow?

Floor decks.

3/8 cdx plywood, urethaned and carpeted.  Lay it on the ribs so water flows underneath.  Notch out where ribs run up the sides, holds it in place.  Lift out to clean.  Easy, light.  Replace every few yrs for "new again" boat.

yeah I would say it is about the same as that.

for hte seat poles do oyu just screw them into the seat or is there a certain way you would recomend me doing it?

also what size trolling motor is on your buddies? and how does it work?

thinking of selling the gas motor and go electric.

See the hole in the bow seat on my boat?  we made one in each of the benches too.  Dig out some foam and use nut/bolt/lock washer.  Area is great for storage now too.  Drift anchor, etc.  Use car door edging for a finished edge on the hole.  I used a cut out tool to cut mine. Many tools will work.

My buddies seats aren't like that anymore, his are like mine now.

A 55 lb motor pushes a 12 just fine.  We use all 55's.  I use up to 3 of them but 1 is fine.  Go all day.

and BTW, welcome to BassResource.  You ask,...we answer :o

Our consulting fee consists of you coming back and posting pics in the "My tournament or outing" section when she's up a runnin'. :)  Fair enough? :)

Trolling motor, much more versatile.  You could easily sell the motor if it runs.  Or, it's always nice to have if you fish a larger lake with a longer run (save the t/m battery for actual fishing time)  but a 2.5 isn't much quicker than a good t/m and battery.

ok..might sell my motor then...I also don't know my boat licence so i can run an electric without one i beleive so might end up doing that.

can you go into a bitmore detail on how to install the seats like that..i really like them.

you did an awsome job on your boat...im jelous.

All you have to do on the seats is simply grab the seat mount without the seat on it and mark the holes. You could drill i pilot hole and put some stainless steel screws in them or you could get some self-tapping screws. That's if you get the mounts like LBH. Or you can run to the ole wally world and pick up a seat base plate. If you get that kind then youwll have to drill out a hole about 1.5" in diameter, then stick the seat plate in it and hold it down with some stainless screws. But if you get the seat plate you have to get a seat pin. Wich just mounts to your seat and makes it where you can remove your seats whenever you are transporting the boat.

If I get out tomorrow, I'll get you a quick pic.  MATT 5.0 has a pic of the hole and trim edging but after that, you would reach up inside the bench seat (after digging out the foam that's in there) and get the nut/washer onto the bolt sticking through. (Times however many bolts you have, 5, 7, 9...)(My pedestals have 6 I think)

MATT????  pic?

ok thanks,

and if the door trim he is talking about it what I am think it is, places like canadian tire, battery supply, other automotive places that carry parts and such ask for door trim.

This is how I have my 12' jon boat set up. My 10' was set up the same way. It is set up for electric only lakes now, but I remove the rear electric and add the 9.9 gas motor and 3 gal tank of HP restricted gas lakes. My front electric is 24V and the rear electric is 12V

I got them :o nice set up

and my boat is 42 inches wide at the bottom i went and measured it just now.

The length i am un sure of as it is frozen to the ground but it is def smaller then a 12 so I am gunna have to say 10 or 11 max probably.

I could have sworen that it was 11 , 6 when we measured it when I got it but ill check tomorrow or the next day as we are getting rain and should melt all this white stuff and ice.

11'6" x 42" is a 12.  It's an awesome 12, I've never seen, nor heard of one in these dimensions.

Mine is a 1964, back when they made stuff to be bulletproof.  It is an extra deep, xtra wide model but still only has a  39" width across the floor.  Mine is an odd size and many 1236 owners are amazed at what a couple extra inches does for you.

Do you know the brand name?  Do you have a serial #?

Wayne, a 10hp on a 1-' jon is somthin I gotta see, can you email me too?

(ps, on photobucket, you have to rename the pic after you save it for some reason.  If you use original name, it will link to original upload for some reason.  I resize, rename, and post, just a suggestion :o )

not sure of the brand it is gone as it now has search and rescue on the side so I am asuming that it at one point in time was used for search and rescue for fire department or something.

As for the serial number it is in side the boat. When i get it flipped over when everything is melted ill send you it.
