GitRDoneIke23 Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Ok, actually it's a Kayak. I think it'd be neat for my Yak to have a name. It's a 12' Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120. It's kind of an Orangeish Yellow color (they call it Mango.) Thank's ya'll!! 8-) Quote

Olebiker Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I don't have a name suggestion, but I would like to know what you think of that model. I have been thinking about getting one for fishing in places I can't, or don't want, to get my Bass Tracker. Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted March 15, 2008 Author Posted March 15, 2008 I don't have a name suggestion, but I would like to know what you think of that model. I have been thinking about getting one for fishing in places I can't, or don't want, to get my Bass Tracker. I LOVE IT!!! I've fished out of 20+ kayaks. This is BY FAR the best I've ever fished out of!!! The Tarpon 140 is a bit longer, and goes faster and is better if you're going longer distances. But I like the 120 because you can get in tighter places. But either are ECELLENT!!! A word of advice: If you can afford it, get the optional rudder. It makes steering your Yak a WAY easier!!! That way you don't have to worry ab out steering with your paddles. Also curved paddles are easier on the wrists after a long day, they cost a bit more but they're worth it!!!! Hope that helped!!! If you have any questions, PM me. 8-) Quote
Popeye Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Clock Work Orange? Mango Tango? I just sold my Malibu Mini-X yak and ordered a 10' Nu Canoe in camo brown that should be here one day next week (I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday so I can call in sick and FISH on Wednesday). The Nu Canoe appears to be VERY spacious and extremely stable so I will be able to STAND and fish. IF it isn't, and once again I think it will be, once I add the outriggers/stabilizers to it, it will be!!! I'll be posting a complete review of the Nu Canoe in the Bass Boating and more forum once I've fished the Nu Canoe!! You can read my review of the Mini-X there if you like. Yaks and/or Yak/Canoe Hybrids are the "cat's whiskers" in small ponds and lakes, IMO:o) Quote
