Wrap those hooks up :D it will help you with pulling 1 out at a time.

I use to use those plastic hook bonnets/keepers, but keeping up with different sizes, colors was a hassle. I guess I could give the rubber bands a shot. (or try the Bass Mafia )

Think I'll pull the trigger on the 3700 Bait coffin for my 1.5's and 2.5's. I've got a Plano small crankbait I'll use for my 1.0s

You all going with the regular 3700 over the deep?

I think I'm going with the Crankbait coffin so I can fit all of my cranks in it. Once my collection finally outgrows the crankbait coffin, I will try a 3700dd (double deep) for the shallow divers and the crankbait coffin for the deep divers. The regular isn't as deep so you can't fit as many crankbaits in it.

I also fish from a kayak and have been using the Plano 3700 Deep. However, as you can see from the picture, I have to play the game when trying to take out just one bait. I've been looking at that Bass Mafia 3700 Deep as a solution for some time now, but my concern is if it is truly waterproof/water tight. I know the Plano is and it also floats, even when loaded with baits. I can not find any reviews stating that the Bass Mafia box floats. I guess I could go ahead and drop the coin on the Bass Mafia and test it myself and them use the return label if it doesn't pass. I really do like how the Bass Mafia box organizes baits.

If suggest investing in hook bonnets, they are relatively cheap and no more hook rash and reduced tangles

I just ordered myself the cranking coffin. I won a $50 gift card to tacklewarehouse.com at work for a bug finding competition.

Sounds like this should be a winner for all my cranking needs for a while.

Sounds like you just need me to pick through your collection and lighten your load a bit..........

As you can see I am a minimalist when it comes to hard baits.

I'm a software engineer. We built a new system in a hurry and it obviously had a lot of bugs due to the timeframe it was rolled out.

The Plano crankbait storage boxes for me work the best, especially when used with hook bonnets.  The hook bonnets stay tucked down into the box and you can move crankbaits in/out/around like toys.

I’ve tried a couple different storage options for crankbaits. IMO I prefer the Plano 3707 Medium Crankbait Organizer. Now keep in mind I’m from Delaware, we just have ponds and you don’t find much water deeper then 10ft. So I don’t have many cranks that run deeper then that. But if your wanting organization, I’d say go with the Plano Crankbait Organizers. But if you want quantity, I’d say go with a Deep utility box or the Bass Mafia Deep Coffin.

I put the small craft bands on all my cranks too. The Plano box is made where the dividers slant, allowing the hooks to go under the next section and the lure body to stay up. Without bands, the only way to prevent a hook mess is to make the lures meet bill to bill. When I put bands on I more then doubled how many I fit. I believe I have 30 cranks in mine. 1.0s, 1.5s, 1.5 shallows, 2.5s, Echo 1.75s, Couple Shad Raps, and some Bagley Medium Divers. It holds 3 per section perfectly. Then I have Red Eye Shads, Tungsten 2-Taps, and Rat’L Traps in it too, again 3 to a section. And lastly I have a handful of KVD Jerkbaits in it also. I just do 2 to a row, but you could stack them and probably get 4 in each section. But Plano has different sized boxes, another 3700 series for Large Crankbaits and 3600 series boxes for Small, Medium, and Large Cranks.

I’m all Bass Mafia, the 3700 Coffin is the best thing I’ve bought in awhile. Not only the durability, but having 48 slots, heavy duty, dividers that fit, and built to last. Hopefully this helps you out man.

I received the Bass Mafia Cranking Coffin in the mail today. I took a short break from work to load it up, and it's perfect. I have it filled about halfway so far (I lost a lot of cranks and broke a few trying to throw them under a very low bridge as well). It holds the 1.5s, 2.5s, medium divers, deep divers all without issues and gives me one large box that I should be able to hold all my cranks for a long time, and I have my 3600 sized crankbait box for overflow and backups.

Thanks everyone!

Because I fish from the bank, I’ve found that using a 3600 box with no dividers allows me to keep the greatest amount of cranks in one box.

I use hook covers to keep em from tangling. Also helps keep hooks out of my hands while I’m tying em on.

I have NOT sprung for a Moffia box yet. Really would like to see a few versions. I use the Plano boxes and have my CB’s very well organized by manufacturer and color patterns. I label mine and find it easy to grab what I want and it makes it easy to put back where it belongs at the end of the day.
