Super User Oregon Native Posted October 15, 2018 Super User Posted October 15, 2018 It's official....heat was turned on in the house yesterday for the first time....fall is finally here. Lake temp dropped ten degrees and the grass is now not growing so fast. Yeah....fall has arrived. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 15, 2018 Super User Posted October 15, 2018 I've had a couple fires, but haven't turned on the furnace, yet. 1 Quote

SDoolittle Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 We turned ours on last night. It feels like we skipped fall this year and went straight from summer to winter. 4 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted October 15, 2018 Super User Posted October 15, 2018 I've had my heat on for 3 days now. Glad I didn't wait any longer try it. Found out the heat did not work. I had to replace a faulty control circuit board to get it working. 1 Quote
dave Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Temps were in the lower 40's over the weekend at night. Window open, fan on...heaven for me. My early morning "warm gear" included wearing a tee shirt under my fishing shirt. 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 We haven't turned our heat on yet. Gonna try and milk this time between a/c and heat for as long as I can.......or until my wife says she's cold. 1 1 Quote

Super User Darren. Posted October 16, 2018 Super User Posted October 16, 2018 We usually don't turn our heat on until December, at least. We like it "cold" in our upstairs, for sleeping reasons. Keep the temp around 68, in the summer, so if it drops, it's all good...until we have to wear layers to sleep. Quote

Russ E Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 we are in the middle of a cold spell. It was 31 degrees this morning. Kansas City Broke a record last night for earliest recorded snowfall. . hoping it gets over soon. I went fishing today anyway. I wanted to try out my new cold weather fishing gloves. there was still ice on my truck when I launched the boat. surprisingly I caught a dozen fish. nothing big, but better than I expected. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 16, 2018 Global Moderator Posted October 16, 2018 Yeah, our heat is on 28°LORealFeel® 26°Precipitation 1% Mainly clear; cold; there will be a freeze This "spring" we went straight from winter to summer. It was literally snowing one week in April, then 90's the next week. We had temps in the 90's and high 80's as recently as last week, now it's snowed yesterday and we've had freezes two nights in a row. Those hot days are a distant memory. 2 Quote

tander Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Not really much cold weather, was high of 65 today. We did turn the heater on the other night just to make sure it did work when we really needed it. 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Well, it's happened. The wife is complaining that it's cold in the house. I predict the heat coming on at some point this weekend. She's turned on the gas logs a couple of times as a hint. 2 Quote
