My brother sent me this earlier today. Absolutely crazy. My guess is someone let it loose. Hard to imagine one surviving years of Lake Michigan winters...though if there are warm water discharges, def possible. 1 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted October 9, 2018 Super User Posted October 9, 2018 It had rubber bands holding it's mouth closed so it can't have been out there for more than a few months at most 1 Quote
Russ E Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 an alligator was spotted 3 miles west of my house in Kansas, on Monday. it was someones pet. with all the water from this weeks rain, he decided to go on walkabout. its funny in parts of the KC metro it is illegal to own a pitbull, but here you can own a 4ft. alligator. here are a couple links to the story. https://fox4kc.com/2018/10/09/kansas-alligator-caught-on-camera-spooks-neighbors-law-enforcement/ https://www.kansas.com/news/nation-world/national/article219733695.html 1 Quote
Super User Gundog Posted October 10, 2018 Super User Posted October 10, 2018 Some idiot was keeping a pet alligator in a pond not to far from the Susquehanna River a couple years ago. Sure they won't survive the winter but they will scare the youknowwhat out of you until then. It just amazes me how unconcerned some people can be about other peoples safety. Some people claim its a "pet" but you have a responsibility to others in the community to not keep "pets" that can endanger others if loose. 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted October 10, 2018 Global Moderator Posted October 10, 2018 The alligator in Lake Michigan was found in northern Illinois so chances are pretty good @slonezp bought for himself as an early sweetest day present but it grew to big for his bathtub. ? 4 Quote
