Super User ChrisD46 Posted October 8, 2018 Super User Posted October 8, 2018 I hear good things about the Falcon BooCoo SR casting / spinning rods and finally was able to view them in person : Nice rods but most appeared light for their action rating and all appeared to have a moderate fast action which leads me to ask : Are Falcon BooCoo SR rods mainly to be used with braided lines OR treble hook lures ? Thanks in advance for replies from your experience ! Quote
livin2fish Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Not pretending to be an expert on anything fishing related, but I have two BooCoo rods, a MH and a H that I throw about anything I want on them. Don't use braid on either. You are correct in they are a little light for the action, but that is what I like. Quote
Djohn Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I have a 7FT version and use it for Senkos an creature baits. They may appear light but there is plenty of back bone there. Great rods. Quote
ohboyitsrobby Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I have a falcon bucoo and quite a few other falcon rods. Yes they are light for their rating but you can adjust for that. They're solid rods for the price. Quote

Except for top water , I'm trying to use braid + leader option more - so the BooCoo SR could still be a good option for my needs . Quote
BoatSquirrel Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I have a 7’0” BRC 417 Med/Mod action. It is soft as a willow limb and exactly what I was after to throw small cranks or neko rigs on a baitcaster. 10-12 lb flouro. Great value rods! Quote
livin2fish Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 "Don't use braid on either." The way I stated this in a earlier post can be easily misconstrued. I meant, I do not use braid on either rod, but there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't use braid. Actually a softer rod, imo is a good match with braid, less likely to jerk the bait away from the fish, or tear the hooks out of their mouth. Quote
