bucketmouth8 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I am wanting to make some rod holders for my aluminum v-hull out of pvc pipe. I'm looking for some ideas on how others have done it. Please post a pic if you have it along with a brief description of how you made them. Not pole holder to use while fishing but rod holders to stow rods/reels vertically. Quote
CGH Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Sent you a PM Not my design but i would guess that This guy could help you out. I followed his patter just from this picture for a Rod holder for the house Quote
VekolBass Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 My solution Works OK, except that you have to be careful when casting not to smack your rod tip or bait into the rods in the holders. Quote
bucketmouth8 Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Thanks for the pic. That is what I am looking to make but I have to figure out how to mount the pvc pipe to my benches. I have seen those for sale at Cabelas like yours but I want to try to make my own. Quote
JKay Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Instead of trying to mount something in the boat, I decided to bring along a milk crate with PVC tubes mounted inside. The kayaking community uses this arrangement quite a bit. Using plastic ties I secured a bunch of them to the inside of the crate. I used a larger PVC tube to put my Fishing Buddy fishfinder in when I pull it into the boat. The crate still has space inside to keep my anchor and a few other things. I even mounted a couple cup holders on the outside of the crate. It's really turning out to be a multipurpose piece of equipment! Quote
