I will be purchasing some higher end electronics for the boat, and wanted to know if they run sales at any time of the year. Do you see good deals during Black Friday/Cyber Monday? Leaning towards Humminbird Solix die to its connectivity with the Ultrex.

I have not been in the market so I haven’t watched prices. Any help is appreciated!

I am in no hurry if it saves me some money.

Late winter, when the new models come out, is usually when you see good prices on last years models.

Black Friday usually has some sales, however I don't know if the Solix will be on sale since it's only a year old (I believe).

Also check with online stores like BBG marine and the GPS Store for way better deals than any big box store. You'll be surprised.

Unfortunately the guy who ran universalmania went to jail and they are no longer in business.  Another vote for BBG

I've purchased from The GPS Store before and it was a great price and service.

HB required dealers to adhere to minimum advertised pricing. You can find deals still and definitely through eBay but your best bet will be picking up the phone.

GPS store was good to me as well, but also West Marine is often forgotten and I got my Garmin from them for a great price. In fact their fish finders may be the only good deals they ever have in that store.
