Harold Scoggins Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Today I use a Helix, but back in the mid 70s the Bird Trap was all the craze. I bought this unit back in 1976 when I was home on leave and used it through the early 80s. It sits on a shelf in the man cave and about every two years I hook it up to two 6V batteries and fire her up. 3 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 4, 2018 Super User Posted October 4, 2018 That's cool. I had a Fish Lo-K-tor. I still like a flasher, and I'm glad there's still the RTS view on modern units. That's as close to a flasher these days. 1 Quote

I've got my Dad's old Fish Lo-K-tor ,"Little Green Box," that he used in the 60s. I turned it on about 10 years ago and it still worked. It's amazing how far electronics have come. Check out this relic my Dad bought around 60 or 61. I have no idea how it works. 1 Quote

Temperature probe with 50' wire that wraps onto a spool stored inside the plastic tubular case. Same meter I used during the 60's to take the bass body temperature by putting the probe in the throat after catching them, then lowering the probe down to determine how deep the bass. The wire spool is plug into the side Jack port. The meter is instant reading and accurate for it's time period. It primary use was finding thermoclines. The meter looks new and unused. Lowrance Fish Lo-K-Tor portable green box flasher was the other tool I used in the 60's to establish my Cosmic Clock and Bass Calendar. Still my Bright Temp meter and Lo-K-Tor. Tom Quote
gnappi Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I had a HUGE Ray Jefferson telescan. It was a color CRT model that barely fit on my console. It is like the one in the pic below. It's not mine, I guess the guy that bought serial number two kept a pic of his ? 1 Quote
