I’m pretty much done for the season as far as buying until Black Friday. I have all the rods I need and baits that work around here. Was my last true setup and glad I got it Quote
papajoe222 Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 You should get some nice logs with those. Oops, that was meant for log catcher 2 Quote
Super User Gundog Posted October 3, 2018 Super User Posted October 3, 2018 Temps around here as suppose to rise for the next week so no jerkbaits for me yet. But hopefully the temps will drop and I can go back to yanking on tanks. 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted October 3, 2018 Super User Posted October 3, 2018 Toss out the book, GD. Couple weeks ago, they were killing jerkbaits here in dirty water with temp of 78. 3 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted October 3, 2018 Super User Posted October 3, 2018 Too many deep diving jerkbaits... You need 10 more shallow diving jerkbaits to balance out your tackle box. - Bait Monkey 4 4 Quote

I am finding that my regular boxes with all those hooks are starting to break down some of the paint after all these years. Been thinking about Tubing just don't know if I can get over changing. Last season I started using small rubber bands to gather & maintain the trebles on ALL my treble hook baits - requires an extra few seconds to break out a new bait & then again to secure it back in the box. But it will prevent the tangles mess & most all the hook rash. A-Jay 1 1 Quote
Joshua van Wyk Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 First time using a jerkbait I caught 3 nice ones back to back! 2 Quote

ItsHardwick Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I need more jerkbaits. I have probably 8ish but only one deeper diver. Not enough color selection either. Honestly I have no confidence in them but that’s because Ives never really dedicated myself to throwing one and just sticking with it. What water temp would you all say the jerkbait bite really starts up at? I know you could fish them in warmer water but what’s the general rule of thumb here? By the way our water temp here is still at 80-81 ha. 1 Quote

Plus I like doing other techniques in the summer, but roughly 38-70 degree temps I would say 2 Quote

That's my problem too. Lake is still choked with weeds. Once they die off my jerkbait action will begin. By that time the big girls will be feeding heavily for the oncoming winter. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 3, 2018 Global Moderator Posted October 3, 2018 Ready for them? Why'd you stop fishing them? A Duo jerkbait has been one of my best baits for the last months and our water temps still haven't fallen below 70. 3 Quote
