I have a monarch 1448 that I am modding to a bass boat. I started it last spring and am finishing it this year. I hope to be able to use it soon. The boat has a live well in the middle bench. It has a hole in the bottom that allows the water to come in and drain out. I would like to install an pump/aireator. For some reason my brain cannot get itself to figure it out. How do you install the plumbing for this?

Are your sure is not a cooler and the hole just drains to floor of the boat?

If the hole in the bottom does go to the water. It will only fill the livewell to the hight of the water outside the boat.

The only way to get water into it would be a pump that sucks in water from the outside. You will need to put a hole in the transom of your boat and put a pump in there. The run the out flow tube to your live well. You will also need a spray head to make bubbles as the water fills the livewell.

You will also need a hole in the side of the livewell to drain to the outside of the boat so you can not over fill the livewell and then start filling the bottom of the boat with water.

Or, you can use a bucket to fill it and use on of these kits to recirculate the water.

They make the whole kit for the intake all you would have to do is drill your hole and install.  You might also think about a timer switch for it to save  battery life.  Your outlet you will want to leave room at the top so you don't slosh so much.  This whole thing could also be done to a large cooler for a portable on boats that don't come equipped

Hope this helps.

Heres how im doing mine. I know someone is going to say... thats draining into the bilge.... no, just a one dimensional drawing, the exit pipe exits the boat. The only one going to the bilge is the pipe on valve four to be used as backup bilge in an emergency.
