Anyone tried some of the nicer JDM telescopic rods? looking for something very small and easy to pack in the car. I do lots of creek fishing and pond hopping and mostly use finesse techniques like the ned rig, drop shot, or 3' senkos. Interested in the Daiwa BBB to be specific. If you don't know the type of rod I'm talking about I'd highly recommend looking up BCSG fishing on youtube he has some vey interesting content about these types of rods.

Wish he was in the states where such rods do not exist. The only telescopic that can be found in a store and is barely acceptable is the Quantum Telecast 6'6. It does not have an insanely long handle, it is IM6 offering good enough sensitivity and very light at just 3.85 oz, it has a medium action which is also hard to find for graphite rods but is essential for bass fishing and it is less than 20" when collapsed while many are still way too long to give a point over 2-pc rods. However, it is easy to break, I have two broken within 6 months, one broke virtually on the first cast.

I had a rod company post on my Youtube page asking me to promote one their products. They wanted me to give them a positive Amazon review plus a positive video review and for that they where going to give me a telescopic rod combo. From the reviews I read of this telescopic rod they are not good for any decent fighting fish over 10 pounds and you have to be very careful since these rods break more often than multiple piece rods or single piece rods.I prefer my 4 piece travel rods since they have proven themselves to me and do not think I will risk breaking a telescopic rod on my fishing vacations.
