Topwaterdude Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 I been reading post and seeing videos on ALX Zolo rods ,never tried one before I was hoping someone could tell me what GLoomis series rod would you compare it to? Thanks! PS Looking to get a new worm rod currently using Dobyns fury which is nice but I was thinking of upgrading. Quote
Stephen B Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 ALX Zolo sensitivity is a comparable to an IMX Pro, but a little less responsive from my experience. The build quality is good and they feel good. There are a lot of great rods in the price range, so just research around and I'm sure you'll find something you like. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted September 29, 2018 Super User Posted September 29, 2018 I would contact Alex at ALX and ask him your questions and a feel for custom support. I fish ALX custom built rods that are equal to Loomis NRX series rods at 1/2 the price, haven't fished the off the shelf Zolo series rods. I know Zolo uses Kagin micro guides, lighter over all weight then Dobyns rods, both have and have an excellent warranty and customer service. Tom 1 Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted September 29, 2018 Super User Posted September 29, 2018 I just received a Zolo in the mail yesterday and fished it. Excellent rod build, light, sensitive. Much more so than Dobyns (in terms of weight/sensitivity). Most similar to Kistler Helium but a couple bucks less. 1 Quote
