paulheelsc Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Got my first "bass boat" today, a 1987 Aggressor 14 ft. Its a starter boat, 50 hp evinrude with blown cylinder, no trolling motor and some aesthetics work. Can anyone tell me anything about these boats? Have owned a john boat since the age of seven, but this is the first fiberglass. Got alot of work to do, any suggestions would be greatly apprecoated Quote
MemphisFisherman Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Congratz! As for your boat I have never heard of Aggressor, but I wouldn't put more than 400 pounds in it, thats probably around capacity if not a little bit high. If it is a "145 Deluxe" model than your max hp is 60hp, and meh I don't wanna be a drag here but I'm not sure if I would run your 50hp at full speed, well sometimes you can but just know when enough is enough. What I mean by that is some people buy short fiberglass boat's and think that just because it's fiberglass then they can go ripping through rough water no prob. It's still a small boat and should be treated like one regardless or if it's fiberglass or not, if you catch my drift...just be safe. Gratz again on the boat, remember what they say, the happiest day in a man's life is when he buy's his first boat, the second is when he sell's it, or something like that I dont know for sure ;D Quote
paulheelsc Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Did some work on tyhe boat today. Got to find an engine before its goes in the water. here are some pics. paulheelsc Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Yeah, got alot of work to do. I can get pretty much everything done with the exception of engine stuff and trolling motor. that will have to wait after fire season, hopefully i can get out a bunch. Its exactly what I wanted, a starter boat. Learn how to do stuff on them and work on the motor, good on fuel and small. gionna be painful not getting it on the water for a while Quote
