I like to hook them through the nostrils and free line them. Haven't used live sunfish in a long time, I prefer crawdads or shad.

The "rig" is tying a hook (short shank octopus or the like 5/0-7/0) and attaching a bluegill through the nose, upper lip, or behind the dorsal, depending on conditions. Proposed "technique" label: indigenous bio slinging, cause live-lining is already taken by all those lowly non bass anglers...
