I sit in the back of my boat and just hate reaching behind me for the tiller handle all day. Hmm.. Or maybe I could put one up front and run the foot pedal to the back? Quote
bassnleo Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 If you want to run a bow mount TM from the back you are going to be limited in what you can install. Minn Kota make a Power Drive model TM that has a small pedal and long cord. I also think Motorguide makes a similar set up. Quote

I'm looking to do the same thing. Cabelas has a 40# foot control bow mount TM for 299 this week. I have seen several people put a small deck up front on their jon boats to act as a platform for the tm. A boat is a lot easier to control with the trolling motor pulling the boat than it is trying to push the boat. The advantage is much greater when in wind or current. Quote

Right now I've just got a TM but plan on getting a small outboard soon. I agree that it'd be better sitting up front and having a bow mount TM but I'm worried about when I am fishing with someone else, it's not real easy to swap positions in a 1232 jon boat. Quote
