Trying to decide if I want to head over to the pond, fishing has always been great on rainy mornings. But it’s raining pretty hard and I’m not sure if I want to.

I feel for ya. I'm eastern Penna. and it been terrible. I have not had a real season to speak of on the river. I'm a River Rat and never took to the lake that much. I really found a new home on the lake. It's been fun and a bit educational at the same time. My river days may be few and far between these days. Be safe and go out. I'm working so I can't go out. But I'll be thinking about it.

Just when it looked like I was going to get a chance to fish the Susky, the rug has been pulled out from underneath me again. Its getting ridiculous. I've started buying oranges at the grocery store because I fear getting scurvy. There are mushrooms growing out of the cracks in the sidewalk.

I went for about 2 hours, wasn’t much fun. It was raining pretty hard all night the water was as high as I’ve seen it. Not a bit on anything I guess I’ll learn how to take my reel apart and clean and lube it.

A whole summer of watching the USGS gages on the Susky waiting for the right conditions.  A few weeks ago I thought they were saying there was a chance,  turned into whole bunch of one in a million talk.  So much water in PA this summer.

Maybe it will be an outstanding fall.

I enjoy fishing in the rain and have caught some of my biggest bass during rainy weather.

I would say it probably rained 25% or less of the days since April and I am glad it rains a lot. Other states are not so fortunate and they have droughts. Some of those drought affected states have to paint the grass green since there is not enough rainfall for lush green grass like we have here in South Florida. The intense sunlight of a sunny day is overrated for me and I only like sunny conditions when I am diving.

I was gonna start a thread some time back about all the rain. I've been ****ing and moaning about it for months to my wife and she's about ready to stab me over it.

Glad I didn't. Would of been a selfish rant. Most likely would have gotten called out on that one.

I'm lucky and grateful that it has not brought devistation to my local area. I've seen what it has done in some areas. To persons property. Areas they fish. Im not facing that. You see that and it makes your pet peeve seem like nothing.

I agree with you we can always use the rain. I remember back in the early ninety's we did have a drought up here in North Florida. Most of Palm Coast burnt to the ground.

It has rained all day here in SW OK and now we're under a flash flood warning. I stayed home and played with fishing lures.

I remember that as well and other droughts where Lake Okeechobee water levels was very low. I hope we do not get any more of those droughts and hope we continue getting a healthy amount of rain.

It was supposed to rain all day here in Yukon, too. I risked it anyways. Got a little wet this morning, but this 3.6 lb made it worth it. Wicked sharp lips. He was so tight to the bank, I'm surprised he was even wet.
