I got this thing last Christmas and finally tossed it today. On a straight in retrieve on my local river I was impressed with the sound. Essentially it seemed to have a more subtle plop than the plopper.

How is everyone fishing it and how much success are you having with it? Trying to decide if I pick up another.

Last call, has anyone used it? May not make it out again this year to tr6 it myself due to high water.

I haven't got one yet but plan to at some point. Regular prop baits (non ploppers) don't get much use around here and the fish seem to react to them accordingly.

Might be worth a shot. I know the face on the lure looks like something you would work like a popper, but the river current forced me to retrieve it straight in where I noticed the muted sound. Not sure if a topwater bite is different from other crank bites, but I would think the top notch would be good change up for less active fish.

On the flip side, fishing it like the old Devil's Horse produces a lot more noise. Jerking it with short pauses causes the props to bubble and froth the water a bit. I've not caught a fish on it because, honestly, it's HUGE and my confidence in it is not established over other baits that serve the same purpose.

I'm not sure how bass in your lake like, fast moving, a lot of commotion or slow with subtle?

I know that I success more with something slow, and subtle in my lake. I don't even throw a lot of WP these days.

I agree with @Big Rickjust fish like old devil's horse. In fact I caught one on it a few day back, my first time using it. I just do short rip and pause.

Today I got to try another new lure as well and caught two on this. It about the same as Devil' horse but with only small prop on the end. It is bagley spintail. I'm still trying to figure what the best way to fish this, but so far I have success with short tip and pause to make the lure dart under water.
