sfpalatka Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Nothing like going fishing and having a gator follow you. He was chasing our lure back to the boat. No matter how far I trolled down along the pads, it would show up. This has happened to me before but usually they would loose interest. I almost threw him a clock to be able to keep tabs on him.? He is a youngster so he should learn soon enough that chasing becomes boring after awhile. 5 Quote
Super User Koz Posted September 16, 2018 Super User Posted September 16, 2018 Lots of those in my area as well. Today I had 3 juveniles milling about in one lagoon I fished but they left my baits alone. My dad has a small lagoon out back of his place where a juvenile gator was becoming a nuisance. So my 12 year old son took matters into his own hands. He kept tossing a frog out in the water and ripping it by the gator whenever it approached. After about 30 minutes the gator gave up chasing the bait. To this day I can still fish out there and the gator won't chase any bait - including topwaters. 1 Quote

Hopefully he or she well learn to stay away from boats. It's gator season right now. This one was way to small to be harvested. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 16, 2018 Global Moderator Posted September 16, 2018 I've had some big snappers follow my kayak around, hopefully the closest I get to having a gator follow me in Kansas. 1 Quote
