Which is the better braid for drop shot fishing with a floro leader?

They're both great. I like SS8 a little better as it's "slickness" remains

a little longer than regular PP in my experience.

As for sensitivity, negligible difference. You'll be fine either way.

OK thanks, I have heard the SS8 gets wind knots a fair amount.  I am new to braid, so I just want to have a good experience

I don't get a lot of wind knots with 15# test SS8. I got more using

10# regular PP, but not an extreme amount, or even enough to

cause me to switch brands.

I have never gotten a wind knot before. Not with any braid. I use SS8 exclusively for every application.

I'm in the "wind knots with SS8" camp and just use plain old PowerPro or Sufix 832 now.  The other plus about base PowerPro is that almost everyone from Wal-Mart to TW carries it, and, you can usually find it on sale.

I use 10 lb regular power pro on my spinning reels.

30 or 40 lb regular power pro on my casting rods.

only time I ever had wind knots is if the line gets an excessive amount of twist.

I did not care for the ss8. it did not seem to cast as well.

If the V2 is a serious improvement over the original super slick, then it's probably the better choice. I didn't like the original super slick. Too limp and loosely woven. Original is great and very tough, but it is coarse and I think less well suited to finesse applications, especially in current. Smoother 8 strands seem to catch the flow less. I've gone over to spiderwire smooth 8 for all my finesse stuff now. It's relatively inexpensive, smooth and less limp than some 8 strands, which I find easier to handle.
