BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 12, 2018 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 12, 2018 It's official. B.A.S.S. has cancelled the Elite Series events planned for the Columbia River and the California Delta. They will be replaced by two venues in the South East. It seems vocal complaints by some of the pros are what swayed B.A.S.S. to cancel the events. 1 1 Quote
Megastink Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 How about the west coast guys that have to travel east??? Quote
looking45 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 I'm surprised they even scheduled another event on the Ca Delta. They're still waiting to get paid by the city of Stockton for the last event they had in the Delta Quote
redux Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 There is also a new BASS acronym they failed to announce at the end of that release. I found it in a memo that somehow found its way to my Spam folder. Bass Angling is a Southern Sport 2 1 Quote
BassNJake Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Gotta make some concessions to try and keep some of their guys from fleeing to the new tour 2 Quote

OCdockskipper Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 I thought they would visit the West Coast in 2020, after having the 50th Classic back at Lake Mead. They could do the Classic & then 2 tournaments all in a 3 week period. Since all the pros will either be fishing or working the Classic, it would be less of a deal to have a couple of tournaments right after. With this cancellation, that plan may still be in order. If they do go back to the Delta, for heavens sake don't launch way up the Sacramento River. It forces the entire field into a 2 hour run both ways. Quote

Super User WRB Posted September 16, 2018 Super User Posted September 16, 2018 Most western bass pro's that fish B.A.S.S. elites move to be closer to the events. I was surprised they announced 2 western venues and not surprised they cancelled them. B.A.S.S. gets zero support from western towns and cities near their events. Tom 4 Quote

Tom Kinda like the Elite event on the Sabine River which is the border between Texas & Louisiana. Texas land owners who own marshes off the Sabine welcomed the Pros. Louisiana land owners said yes but y'all pay an exorbitant price. Bassmaster solved the situation easily, we'll fish the Texas side only. 2 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted September 17, 2018 Super User Posted September 17, 2018 BASS and FLW are freaking out right now. This new, expanded MLF tour that starts next season will (most likely) take away 80 pros from the Elite Series and FLW. It sounds like most of the 80 are Elite guys and a bunch of the FLW guys are not happy about it. Not a ton of info has been released but next season is going to be interesting. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted September 17, 2018 Super User Posted September 17, 2018 Not happy at all about losing the stop next year (looked forward to taking the kids), but I hadn't heard anything about MLF expanding until this thread. That is very intriguing, especially with the additional television revenue. Competition is generally a good thing and it sounds like we're about to find out. Quote
