Harold Scoggins Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Anyone tried this yet? I've been sold on their fluorocarbon lines and I thought I'd give their braid a try. I just pulled the trigger on a 600 yd spool. 1 Quote
Preytorien Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 It's pretty new, so I haven't seen any reviews on it. Quote

Can't say I've used it, but as A fan of their fluoro and mono, I'd love to hear your feedback once you've fished it some. 1 Quote

Nothing online about it other than the ICAST videos. Hope to have by the weekend. If I don't like it I'll send the rest back for refund...$75.99 is a lot of coin for a line you might not like. Quote
Harold Scoggins Posted June 17, 2019 Author Posted June 17, 2019 Purchased the line last fall, but haven't used it until this morning. My first impression of this braid; it's good stuff. A full season of use would probably yield a better review, but as of right now, I like it. I've been a Power Pro user for years, however, I do think this Xplasma line is a better braid as far as performance. My brother, who swears by Power Pro, has been alerted that he may be receiving my remaining store of Power Pro. Power Pro is good braid, but I think they are going to have to step up their game to even come close to Xplasma. Although I didn't take any measurements, it was obvious that this line casts farther. It is very smooth, not only to the touch, but also when going through the guides. It also repels water very well as claimed and if this holds true by the end of the season, I'll be very happy. Is it worth the coin? I'll let you know come fall. 1 Quote
Yumeya Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 I'm still using it, its very good braid. A little stiff at first but nice and smooth, plus ties FG knots very well... Quote
Smelter96 Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 I agree with the bit of stiffness at first, but it really does repel water quite well. I have 50lb on a heavy flip stick and would recommend it to anyone. I've also found the color fastness to be above average. Havent sharpied it yet. 1 Quote
onenutinthewater Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Any updates on this line? Love the Fireline Ultra 8 as a good floating line but looking to try something new. Quote

I used it all summer, 3-4 nights a week, top water frogs and pitching in the trash at night. It still repels water and has not lost any of it's original color. Still a little stiff on the first couple of casts, but that works its self out rather quickly on subsequent casts. Smoothest braid I've ever used, I'm not going back to Power Pro. I sent all my Power Pro to my brother along with a 200 yds spool of the Sunline I made up. He put all his Power Pro plus the Power Pro I sent out in a garage sale last month. I still have 200+ yds of the Sunline left on the spool and am debating on buying more, this line is going to last. I've got it on my frog rod and on one of my pitching rods, they will not be respooled for next season. Sunline XPlasma Asegai is the "Bee's Knees," and definitely worth the coin. Quote
