HeyCoach Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I’m considering buying a spinning rod that’s better suited for shaky head and weightless Senkos than the one I have currently. What are y’all using? Rod, reel, line, and jig heads? Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted September 8, 2018 Super User Posted September 8, 2018 I use St Croix Avids 6'6" medium and Gloomis IMX medium 6'6". The reels are Shimano 2500 series. The line is 10# mono. Heads vary as I make my make my own with keepers or home made screw locks. Quote

Russ E Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Shakyheads are one of my most used baits. I have tried several different combos and have ended up with this. Medium action Kastking speed demon pro 7ft 3in spinning jig/worm rod, with a Kastking sharky III 2000 spinning reel. 10lb power pro braid, with a 6ft. 10lb. highseas grand slam flourocarbon coated copoly leader. Owner ultrahead shakyhead jig. usually 3/16 oz. usually a trick worm or baby brush hog finishes it off. Quote

looking45 Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I'm using a Gloomis IMX 781 with a Shimano Stradic Ci4 1000 and 4# Viciious Pro Elite fluorocarbon Quote
Smallieseeker Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 I’m using a Dobyns Champion Extreme 743 paired with a Shimano Stradic ci4 spooled with 8 lbs fluro. Great combo for shakey heads and weightless plastics. Quote
