I’m considering buying a spinning rod that’s better suited for shaky head and weightless Senkos than the one I have currently.

What are y’all using? Rod, reel, line, and jig heads?

I use St Croix Avids 6'6" medium and Gloomis IMX medium 6'6".  The reels are Shimano 2500 series.  The line is 10# mono.  Heads vary as I make my make my own with keepers or home made screw locks.

I have an old Falcon Lowrider 6’10” MF with a Shimano Sahara and 15# Power Pro braid to a Seagur Invizix 12# Leader I use either the Megastrike Shake2 Pro Model Shakey Head or the Buckeye Lures Spot Removers Pro Model

I had that same rod since 2008ish until last year when somebody stole it.

Shakyheads are one of my most used baits. I have tried several different combos and have ended up with this.

Medium action Kastking speed demon pro 7ft 3in spinning jig/worm rod, with a Kastking sharky III 2000 spinning reel.

10lb power pro braid, with a 6ft. 10lb. highseas grand slam flourocarbon coated copoly leader.

Owner ultrahead shakyhead jig. usually 3/16 oz.

usually a trick worm or baby brush hog finishes it off.

Currently using a 6' BPS bionic blade MH. Diawa fuego spinning reel with 10 pound sufix siege for a main line, a barrel swivel and about a 3' floro leader in 8 pound test. Have several different types of shaky heads most of them are 1/4 ounce.

I’m using a Dobyns Champion Extreme 743 paired with a Shimano Stradic ci4 spooled with 8 lbs fluro. Great combo for shakey heads and weightless plastics.
