jbmaine Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I was out fishing a 200 acre pond today for LM & SM. I was pulling a ned rig up off a drop off when the line went heavy. Didn't feel like a very big fish but when I got him up it was quite a surprise. Turned out to be a land locked salmon! Every one says ned rigs catch a lot of fish but I didn't expect this. It was pretty thin but went 18" long. Not the best pic but I didn't intend to keep him so I handled him rather gently. 14 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 31, 2018 Super User Posted August 31, 2018 Besides being way cool, a particularly rare by-catch Congrats A-Jay Quote

Super User fishwizzard Posted September 20, 2018 Super User Posted September 20, 2018 Every summer I catch at least one holdover stocked Rainbow when wading tiny rivers for smallies. I have no idea how they survive the summers in the warm, silty water we have, but they hit the Ned like a freight train. Quote
IgotWood Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 An Atlantic...cool! They’re like missiles every time I’ve hooked them on the fly rod. Very acrobatic! Quote
