Most successful is slow crawling, which is basically the only way that they reliably work. 

 

Color - pick a color to match your forage and go with it.

Have you fished it a good bit? Got a few the other week. Haven't fished them to much but have tried it. Also have you used it in murky water or is it better as a clearer water bait?

Have yet to get a fish with one, but truth be told, I haven't really committed to it

slow steady retrieve has been best for me. I have had spotty success with it, but that's typical of a bait like that. My favorite time to throw it is in the rain, I work it just under the surface.

Kind of like fishing a jerkbait, but with the reel instead of the rod tip if that makes any sense. I've done best with Bone and Lite Trout.
