I Recently purchased a bass boat with an Evinrude trolling motor model number 773166, serial number 9302829. I am trying to find out if this is a 12 or 24 V Motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated

How many batteries did the boat come with? Check the battery compartment if there are only 2, it’s a 12 volt. If there are 3, see how they are wired. If two are wired in series, it’s a 24 volt motor.

There are two trolling motor batteries hooked up parallel. Two cables from each battery going two the receptical. Round four prong plug with two wires going to the foot control. Does this type of plug have a jumper in it to make it 24 volt?

I don’t know what kind of plug you have. It sounds like it’s a 12 volt but to be sure, you should use a meter to test it. Batteries wired in parallel should have the positive wire from one battery connected to the positive of the other and then a wire from the negative post of the first battery to the second. Then, the positive and negative wires run to the plug.

There are four wires, two from each battery running to the front of the boat to a four hole receptical. Pictured is the type of plug from the recptical to the foot control. There are only three holes in the back of the plug to accept wires. I thought I read somewhere that this type of plug has a jumper to make a parallel connection for 24 volt. My trolling stoped  working and by using a volt meter I found the problem to be this plug. I have power at the recptical but not out of the plug.  If I was 100% certain that this motor is 24 volt, I would hook up the batteries in the pack of the boat in parallel and only run two wires to the receptical however if the motor is only 12 volt, I would not want to throw 24 volts to it. So this is my dellima. Is there any way to tell what the motor itself is.  The only info I have are the model number and serial number listed on the motor.
