THUMPER31 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Anyone have any idea what those PVC poles on the backs of the boats were for this year? :-/ Quote
Tpayneful Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 This topic is going to get moved to the Tournament section soon The poles on the back of the boats are a retractible pole that can be extended to the lake bottom to hold the boat in one position. This is an aid in sight fishing for bedding largemouth bass. Quote
fishizzle Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 its called a power pole. Its an anchor activated with a remote control The new thing is they have 2 so the boat is properly positioned Quote
fishizzle Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 and its one more thing that a nonboater has to worry about hitting besides the giant motor Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted February 27, 2008 Super User Posted February 27, 2008 They have an 8 foot capability. Simply put, its an elecrtric anchor. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted February 28, 2008 Super User Posted February 28, 2008 Yeah, they're pretty slick contraptions too....we saw a video of them at the Power Pole booth at the Classic Expo and it was impressive. It showed a guy in a big Ranger with pole down in about 3 feet of water IN FAST RIPPLES and it was holding steady. If I had $1400 bucks, I'd get one. Quote
