   ...but is anyone still using yozuri hybrid on spinning gear? If so, which test and which size reel? Do you have problems with twist after awhile? Do you treat the line with something? Please tell me about it.       Thnx.     jj

I'm still using 8 pound on 4 spinning reels.  No issue.  Just spool them up and fish.  I switch it out every spring.  I have had zero line issues.

Yes, I use 6lb Yo-Zuri on one reel, size 25. Never have any issues with line twist, and I do treat it with KVD L&L before each time out. I use it exclusively for wacky-rigged senkos, and to me it’s the perfect line for throwing them around logs and more open-ish water.

I've been using Yo-Zuri hybrid ultra soft 6 lb. on my spinning reels for years, and will continue to do so until I finally run out.

8lb YZH on a pair of spare 2500 size Shimano spools. 

 

No problems with line twist. 

 

I do use KVD L&L on my reels the night prior to going out.

The last two times I purchased it, 6lb and 15lb.  I had trouble with the line breaking sometimes in the spool or a knot just randomly failing.  It still felt and looked the same and pretty much behaved the same.  I can't explain it but it was enough for me to look to a new line to put on a few of my reels.

 

I have some older 10lb on a bulk spool that I have no issues with.

    Odd. That just happened to me with Trilene XL. 6 and 12 lb. My 10 is older and it seems OK.  XL was always my go-to spinning line. No more, though. A friend told me to ask around about Yo Zuri for spinning, and here I am.      jj

I've switched to all braid to leader for my spinning reels, but I ran 6lb and 8lb YZH until recently and i had no issues. 

 

I still have both spools and use them for leaders. The 6lb gets changed every couple trips but the 8lb leader goes weeks.

I use 6 on a 2000 daiwa and it works just fine.  If I get any twist I just take the lure off and troll the line behind the boat and reel it back on.  Maybe do that once every 4 or 5 trips.  Dropshot is what causes me issues and that's how I fix it.

I must be the only person to ever use Hybrid and hate it. The spool I got was like rope and looked like it was glowing under water. I could barely cast with an 1/8oz shakyhead on 8lb test because it jumped off my reel like a slinky, no matter what I did. Makes me wonder if I got an old spool or something.

I used the 15lb and 20lb on my saltwater gear for years! I seemed to hold up better in the boulders than other lines, and it tied nicely too. It was somewhat stiff, but not too stiff, which is what I liked. I never really noticed line twist with it. However, I was changing my line out for fresh line every 3-4 weeks.

6lb YoZuri hybrid is great.  Keep in mind its the same line diameter as many 10lb mono.

 

I like it a lot for Senkos and weightless plastics fished on Med Fast spinning rods.  ML spinning rods get 6lb Tatsu.

 

Treble Baits that are retrieved by turning the handle at a consistent speed get a 65lb swivel to avoid line twist.

YZH is a tiny bit thicker than some monos, like .001 (about the same as big game) or so but its actual breaking strength is much higher. 6lb breaks around 11lbs... I fish on 10lb for most moving baits, breaks at like 15lbs or so if memory serves.
