Strike Rage Blade, Z-Man orrrrrrr...?

So, this might not be the most popular chatterbait out there but I have had the more fish on my rage blades. I have Z-Mans also, because I actually catch fish on them and feel confident about tying one on. I want to compare. 

 

It seems like the trade off between those two, is that one starts and vibrates sooner on the retrieve and "better" (Z-Man), and one I can get through cover better and haven't lost any to snags (Rage Blade). 

 

What are some other favorites? Are there any that are known to come through cover significantly better than most others?

I like the Rage Blade quite a bit myself - solid bait.

However, if you haven't tried one already and you can get over the $$ - Get yourself at least one 

Z-Man/Evergreen Chatterbait Jack Hammer and a bag of the Yamamoto 4" Zako Swimbait trailers of your choice. 

You'll be glad you did.

I second AJay's comments.  If you shop around you can find a good price on the Jackhammer. They are really well made chatterbaits and the Yamamoto Zako's are very effective.

I think the biggest difference between the two is where they ride in the water column.  The rage blade will stay within 2-3 feet of the surface even when reeled as slow as possible while the Z-man can get deeper if reeled slow.

 

I personally prefer the rage blade just because I'm typically fishing grass in 5 foot of water so the rage blade lets me stay above it while moving the bait as slow as possible, but I'm imagining if I were fishing rocks in 10-15 ft the more traditional designs would work better.  Just have to pick the right tool for the job.

What's the differences between the Fogy and Fogy Bubble Blade?

The Bubble Blade has two holes added to the blade that gives the bait a different shake to it.

Ah, I thought so. They look good...I let mine sink to the bottom at the end of the cast and then start my retrieve. So, a football head might be nice if it really doesn't have any problem coming through any of the vegetation. The price looks extremely reasonable and I like the color options. I may have to pick some of these up after all. 

 

I guess which one you want depends on conditions and what you're trying to do. Have you noticed either to SEEM more productive than the other?
